Overview:
Foto Cafe 102, operating since 2004, is a photo gallery and cultural café that has become an inherent part of the club scene in the city of Łódź. Foto Cafe is the meeting place for the people of culture, with cyclical events being organised, such as film screenings, concerts, literary meetings and book promotions. The place, boasting such a broad offer, has gained many avid fans and required a means of communication with its patrons to inform them of the current and upcoming events.
Solution:
Initially, we were commissioned to design and make the club’s website and to slightly refine its logo. However, we went one step further and suggested a brand new one. Inspired by the 20th century Art Nouveau signboards and posters, we created a logotype which through its form conveyed much better the atmosphere of a place filled with vintage furniture, cameras and exhibit items associated with photography. The sepia pictures of the club published on its website, as well as the graphic elements and text in beige and brown, helped to convey the warmth and slight mystery of the place. All the visual aspects were perfectly complemented by the music composed by Łukasz Grzelak specially for this purpose.
